Malayalam films are having a great year at the boxoffice. They are not only emerging as well made movies and boxoffice successes at their homeland, Kerala but also finding huge patronage in neighbouring states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. This year starts with a band for Malayalam industry with back-to-back blockbusters, Premalu and Manjummel Boys followed by Bhramayugam.
Premalu breached Rs 100 Crores and Manjummel Boys emerged as first Malayalam film to cross Rs 200 Crores. Both of them got dubbed and released in Telugu. The films succeeded in repeating the boxoffice success in Telugu too. After the successes of these two Malayalam films, producers of Tollywood are keeping tabs on latest Malayalam releases.
This week for Eid, two Malayalam films got released. One is Fahadh Faasil starrer 'Aavesham' and another one is Dhyan Srinivasan, Pranav Mohanlal starrer Varshangalkku Shesham. Both films arrived good pre release buzz with their promotional content. The films witnessed terrific openings on their release day, 11th April and earned very good word of mouth. Especially Fahadh Faasil starrer 'Aavesham' has more crowd pleasing content with mass elevations and fights.
'Aavesham' is about how three college students who underwent ragging by seniors took their revenge with the help of local goon played by Fahadh Faasil. The film is said to have electrifying mass moments with FaFa's terrific acting aided by Sushin's rousing background score. Aavesham is directed by Jithu Madhavan who earlier delivered blockbuster 'Romancham'. On the other hand, Varshangalkku Shesham, directed by Vineeth Srinivasan is a period film set in 70's and 80's where two friends start their journey to make a name for themselves in Movies. Nivin Pauly is seen in a special role and said to be highlight of the film which comes in the second half.
