Keeravani uses AI to recreate a song. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in music creation is gaining traction in the Indian film industry. Recently, AR Rahman faced criticism for recreating the voices of late singers Bamba Bakya and Shahul Hameed using AI for a track in Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam. This incident sparked a debate among the audience.
Prior to this, Hesham Abdul Wahab utilized AI for a song in Nani’s blockbuster Hi Nanna, showcasing the technology's potential in music production. However, Vivek Sagar's AI recreation of the late legend SP Balasubrahmanyam's voice in Keedaa Cola stirred controversy and faced backlash.
The latest pioneer in AI-assisted music creation is MM Keeravaani, known for his Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu (RRR). His upcoming release, Love Me – If You Dare, features Ashish Reddy and Vaishnavi Chaitanya. At the film's audio launch, Dil Raju revealed that Keeravaani used AI to compose the entire song Ghost Love, marking a historic moment as the first Telugu music director to do so.
Produced by Harshith Reddy, Hanshitha Reddy, and Naga Mallidi, the project also features the renowned cinematographer PC Sreeram.
