Chiyaan Vikram who has been trying hard to score a solid hit. His 'Dhruva Natchathiram' with Gautam Menon is struggling to see the light and he lost hopes on its release. Vikram pinned high hopes on Pa Ranjith directorial 'Thangalaan' where he played the head of a tribe who.lives in Kolar Gold Fields during pre independence era. The teaser created huge buzz and the release date of 'Thangalaan' is also hung in doldrums as it's producer Gnanavel Raja is facing some issues.
Keeping these projects aside, Vikram moved to his next, tentatively titled as 'Chiyaan 62 ' which is to be helmed by director SU Arun Kumar of Siddharth starrer Chithha / Chinna fame. The film has ensemble cast of SJ Suryah and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Now, Dushara Vijayan has joined the cast of Vikram's Chiyaan 62. She will be seen as the female lead of the film.
Dushara, who rose to fame with Pa Ranjith's 'Sarpattai Parambarai' starring Aarya was last seen in 'Aneethi', in which she starred alongside Arjun Das. An up-and-coming actor, she is also known for her performance in another Pa Ranjith's film 'Natchathiram Nagargiradhu', in which she played the lead role. Meanwhile, Dushara also has the Rajinikanth film Vettaiyan helmed by TJ Gnanavel, and the Dhanush directorial Raayan, in the pipeline.
GV Prakash has been roped in to compose music for Chiyaan 62, while Theni Eswar will crank the camera. The film is backed by Riya Shibu under the HR Pictures banner. It may be noted that Riya's father Shibu Thameens bankrolled Vikram starrers like Irumugan and Saamy Square. The makers have also announced that the first leg of shooting for the film is all set to commence by the end of this month.
