Harish Shankar doesn't have a dozen films in his filmography with 18 years of career but is considered as promising and potential filmmaker when it comes to crackling commercial entertainers with big stars. With whomever he makes, he makes it big with all mass elements laced with highly energetic entertainment. Harish Shankar is the director whom audience and trade can believe that the film will work even if it is labeled as template or regular commercial film.

Harish with his expertise can make a regular template commercial film into a celebration in theatres. Harish Shankar started his career as an assistant writer and worked in direction department before he turned into a Director with Ravi Teja starrer Shock in 2006 produced by Ram Gopal Varma. As the film didn't get desired result he waited for five years for his next film. He got a break through with Mirapakay again with Ravi Teja. Harish got recognition and a chance to Direct Pawan Kalyan with Mirapakay's success.

Harish made the opportunity count by delivering a Blockbuster with Pawan Kalyan in the form of Gabbar Singh. It's just not the huge success, but the way Harish presented Pawan Kalyan who has been longing for a solid hit, impressed everyone and made his fans ecstatic. With Gabbar Singh, Tollywood found a new director who has the ability to deliver commercial Superhits.

Then with Hits and misses with Ramayya Vasthavayya with NTR and DJ with Allu Arjun, Harish made films with young heroes Sai Dharam Tej and Varun Tej scoring Superhits with them. Now, he is making Ustaad Bhagath Singh with Pawan Kalyan produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Bachchan Saab with Ravi Teja in People Media Factory banner.
