No release problems for Razakar.A two-judge panel of the Telangana High Court, led by Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice J. Anil Kumar, declined to halt the release of the Telugu movie "Razakar" in a ruling issued on Wednesday.
The decision came in response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR), expressing concerns about the film's potentially provocative content.
The petitioner argued that the portrayal of inter-community dynamics in the movie could reopen historical wounds and foster communal discord in the state. However, the panel noted that the film had obtained a valid certification from the appropriate authority. They emphasized that it was not within the court's purview to speculate on potential outcomes as feared by the petitioner.
In their ruling, the panel maintained that the petitioner could pursue alternative legal avenues available to address their concerns. This decision underscores the judiciary's commitment to upholding freedom of expression while ensuring that legal remedies remain accessible to those seeking redress.
