Maidaan Trailer Review

Maidaan Trailer Released

Maidaan trailer released. After much anticipation, fans of Ajay Devgn will finally get to experience "Maidaan" in June this year, as the film's trailer was unveiled on Thursday. Ajay Devgn steps into the shoes of coach Syed Abdul Rahim, renowned for his pivotal role in modernizing Indian football. Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, "Maidaan" explores the golden era of Indian football from 1952 to 1962.

The trailer opens with Ajay's powerful voiceover, stating, “We aren’t the largest country, neither the richest. Half of the world doesn’t know us. Football can create our identity because the whole world plays football. So, India needs to focus on making a world class team for the next 10 years.” Ajay's character is seen strategizing and scouting players who can play in any position, including some from the slums of India. Despite facing criticism for his choices, Ajay remains determined to create a formidable team. However, he also faces setbacks and vows to never coach again if he fails at the Asian Games.

Described as "the true story of an unknown hero who created history and records for India such that even 60 years later, we are not able to match up to those accomplishments in the most played sport in the world, football," "Maidaan" shifts the spotlight from athletes to the resilience of the coach, much like "Chak De India" and "Gold."
