After Rajinikanth delivered his all-time highest grossers with 'Jailer' last year, he came with 'Lal Salaam' which has Thalaivar in an extended guest role. This Aishwarya Rajinikanth directorial is produced by Lyca Productions. Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth played lead roles which explored religious differences with a rural backdrop.
Usually for any star hero, successive release after a huge blockbuster atleast ensures huge opening irrespective of its end result. As 'Lal Salaam' is publicized as Rajinikanth guest starrer, trade predicted good openings. But, to everyone's shock the film opened to all-time low for a Rajinikanth Film.
No Share For Lal Salaam In Telugu
'Lal Salaam' collected around Rs 5 Crores gross worldwide including all languages where Tamil version contributed majority of it. As per reports, Telugu version only witnessed 10% occupancies in Telugu states. Many of the early shows scheduled on first day git cancelled due to lack of audiences at many places in both Telugu states.
Rajinikanth should reconsider doing such kind of roles which completely lacks his elements. 'Lal Salaam' completely failed to create buzz among the audience utilising the craze generated by Rajinikanth's sensational hit 'Jailer' recently. Vettaiyaan is Rajinikanth's upcoming film in a full fledged role which is scheduled to release this summer.
