Reflecting on the pivotal moment during the interview with Haroon Rashid, Raveena disclosed, "I had just wrapped up 'Sheher Ki Ladki', which had garnered immense popularity. Soon after, I was approached for 'Chaiyya Chaiyya'. While the prospect of collaborating with a maestro like Mani Ratnam was enticing, I found myself in a quandary. The thought of being cast yet again in a dance-centric role gave me pause, as I was wary of being boxed into a stereotype, a common concern in those days when actors risked being typecast."
Despite the allure of working with a legendary filmmaker like Mani Ratnam, Raveena remained steadfast in her decision, asserting, "I firmly believe in the concept of parallel lives. I trust that every decision shapes our journey in unique ways, and altering the course of events could lead to an entirely different outcome. So, while I may have declined 'Chaiyya Chaiyya' in one timeline, I cherish the path it paved for me."
Raveena also took a moment to express her admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, who ultimately starred in the iconic song sequence. "Shah Rukh Khan is truly one of the kindest souls I've had the pleasure of knowing," she remarked fondly. "His warmth and genuine demeanor make him a cherished presence in the industry."
