'Yatra 2' which is being made to provide extra mileage for YS Jagan's political interests and propelling his image to new heights has been eagerly awaited. Reasons behind the anticipation about the film despite knowing that it would be totally in favour to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister is director's efficient handling of its first part 'Yatra' and recently released impressive teaser.
Mahi V Raghav's directorial explores the political journey of YS Jagan strting from the death of his father, former chief minister for united Andhra Pradesh, YS Rajasekhar Reddy to becoming present CM in 2019 elections. The film showcases how he fights against Congress high command Sonia Gandhi and then Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu.
All the crucial characters from the film have already been revealed. Jiiva as YS Jagan and Mammootty as YS Rajasekhar Reddy along with Ketaki Narayan as YS Bharathi, Mahesh Manjrekar as Nara Chandra Babu Naidu and Susanne Bennett as Sonia Gandhi. But, many speculated about the roles of Pawan Kalyan, Sharmila and Nara Lokesh in the film as they were present during the political picture when YS Jaganmohan Reddy was on the rise.
But, reports suggest that none of their characters will be present in the film. Director Mahi V Raghav doesn't want any controversies as he wants to highlight YS Jagan only in 'Yatra 2'. He also concentrates on exploring emotional dimension of father - son relationship. Avoiding Sharmila's character is also seems like keeping the best interests of YS Jagan following current scenario in mind. 'Yatra 2' is releasing in theatres on 8th February, 2024.
