Mallidi Vassishta is now known to many until his first film as a Director, 'Bimbisara' staring Nandamuri Kalyanram hit the theatres. Kalyanram who is known for selecting unique scripts and providing chances to new talent has produced the film along with acting in it. 'Bimbisara' emerged as one of the biggest hits in Kalyanram's career making Mallidi Vassishta an instant sensation.
Mallidi Vassishta comes from film background. His father Mallidi Satyanarayana Reddy is a producer and film financier. He has very close relations with. industry bigwigs. Vassishta whose original name is Venu has debuted as a hero in 2006 with a film titled 'Premalekha Raasaa' co-starring Anjali. But, his acting career didn't take off.
After many years, he emerged as a Director who has delivered a blockbuster with his debut film itself. Many lauded his ability to juxtapose the commercial elements in a folklore fantasy that has an interesting time travel concept. He has effectively utilised the limited resources he had and delivered an impactful product that resonated very well with all sections of audiences.
It is this ability, brought him a big offer of directing Mega Star Chiranjeevi as his second film. The film which is tentatively titled as Mega 156 has socio fantasy elements with an extensive usage of VFX. Chiranjeevi is said to be mighty impressed with the subject and immediately gave his go ahead for the project. Currently, Vassishta is busy in crafting an enigmatic visual extravaganza with 'Viswambhara' (rumoured title) headlined by Megastar Chiranjeevi and bankrolled by UV Creations.
