Rashmika thrashed Ranbir in Animal

Rashmika hit Ranbir multiple times

Rashmika thrashed Ranbir in Animal. Since the release of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's "Animal" on December 1, the film has become the subject of intense scrutiny, with critics, fans, and interviewers alike engaging in discussions about its various aspects. Even after 26 days since its release, the conversation surrounding the film shows no signs of fading away. In a recent interview, Pranay Vanga, the producer of the film and brother of the director Sandeep, addressed some of the criticisms that the film has faced.

In the film, Ranbir Kapoor portrays the character of Ranvijay Singh, while Bobby Deol takes on the role of the antagonist, Abrar. Pranay reflects on the decision to depict the villain with three wives and eight kids, acknowledging that it was a deliberate choice likely to spark conversation. He clarifies, "When Sandeep told me the villain will have three wives and eight kids, I knew it’s something people would talk about. I was right."

However, Pranay emphasizes that there was no malicious intent behind portraying the character's community in a particular light. He points out, "Some complained that we didn’t show the community in a good light. In the last three decades, we have seen numerous villains wearing a bottu (bindi/tilak). Nobody complained. Just because it’s a minority now, people are nitpicking."

Addressing the question of whether Sandeep Vanga is calculative in his portrayal of violence or the screen time given to female actors, Pranay dismisses the notion. He defends Sandeep's approach, stating, "I think Rashmika’s character Geetanjali is as important as RK (Ranbir Kapoor) and Bobby’s. RK hardly has four lines in a four-page-long Karva Chauth scene. RK also told Rashmika that this is her scene. He even told her she can hit him multiple times to get her scene right." Furthermore, Pranay reveals that Ranbir Kapoor, displaying his commitment to the craft, was willingly struck 20-25 times before achieving the desired shot. He emphasizes Ranbir's lack of insecurity, highlighting that the actor prioritized the emotional impact of the scene over his own screen time.
