Prabhas starrer 'Salaar Part 1 : Ceasefire which was released globally yesterday (22nd December) amidst massive buzz witnessed a historic opening at the box office. The film directed by Prashanth Neel features, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan in key roles. With the massive craze and buzz surrounding the film, it became the biggest opener of the year crossing the first-day collections of other blockbusters, 'Animal', 'Jawan', and 'Pathaan' respectively.
After Prabhas facing back-to-back debacles with 'Radhe Shyam' and 'Adipurush'. His fans pinned hope on the latest release 'Salaar' as it showcases Prabhas in a massiest avatar. The mass action movie received a lot of positive response from fans. As per early estimates, the film shattered the domestic box office collection by earning Rs 95 crore on the opening day. While globally it has amassed Rs 178.7 crores.
Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions contributed more to Salaar first day collections, where it collected Rs 70 crore. It also performed well in Karnataka and Kerala where it recorded an opening day box office figure of Rs 12 crore and Rs 5 crore, respectively.
Salaar has even crossed Thai years biggest hits, SRK's 'Pathaan', 'Jawan' and Ranbir Kapoor’s 'Animal' to become the biggest opener of 2023. While 'Pathaan' had earned Rs 57 crore on its first day in India, 'Jawan' and 'Animal' had reported an opening of Rs 75 crore and Rs 63 crore respectively. Now, 'Salaar' registered Rs 95 Crore making to the top of the list. The first part is titled 'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire', while the second part is titled 'Shouryaanga Parvam'.
