Vicky Kaushal's recently released film Sam Bahadur which is based on true life of legendary field marshal Sam Manekshaw has entered the 100-crore club, the makers of the film announced on social media. The film is backed by RSVP Movies, and helmed by Meghna Gulzar.
Sam Bahadur released on 1st December along with Ranbir Kapoor's Animal. Even though the film garnered Terrific reviews, Sam Bahadur is affected by Animal frenzy at the boxoffice. But, due to its strong content Sam Bahadur sustained Animal storm and reflected decent occupancies. The film has managed to cross Rs 100 Crores by its third weekend.
Sam Bahadur also stars Sanya Malhotra as Manekshaw's wife Silloo and Fatima Sana Shaikh as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub are also part of the film.
Bhavani Iyer has penned the script along with Meghna's father Gulzar and Shantanu Srivastava. With music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Gulzar also served as one of the lyricists in the film.
