Karthi's latest film Japan which was released in theatres on 10th November has received poor reviews and didn't sustained much at the boxoffice. Except for Karthi's impressive show, Japan failed to attract audience. Though the basic idea seems interesting, the execution falters resulting in a boxoffice failure for Karthi.
The film is now streaming on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages. The film is expected to be success in OTT space as much of the audience didn't watched the film in theatres and many would try it for Karthi. The film has started streaming from Monday, November 11.
Japan revolves around the notorious thief Japan Muni, who has a unique reputation of publishing his heists as movies. When a theft of 200 pounds worth of jewelry happens, Japan becomes the prime suspect, initiating a cat-and-mouse game between him and the government officials.
Raju Murugan wrote and directed the heist action comedy film while Sr Prabhu and Prakash Babu bankrolled it under Dream Warrior Pictures banner. Japan marks as the 25th film in Karthi's career.
