Secret Behind The Delay In Revanth Reddy Swearing-in

Cong : Musical Chairs for CM Crown

Secret behind the delay in Revanth Reddy swearing-in. The Congress party orchestrated a remarkable upset by dethroning the powerful KCR and his ruling BRS party in the recent Telangana elections, and at the forefront of this seismic shift was Revanth Reddy. His fearless and assertive campaigning galvanized the Congress cadre and leaders, overcoming opposition within the party that branded him a TDP covert.

Despite the unexpected triumph, where the Congress secured 64 seats in the new assembly, the aftermath saw a surge in power struggles. Immediately following the election results, speculation arose that Revanth Reddy would take oath as the Chief Minister the next day. Reports also indicated that the Congress High Command aimed to present a united front by swiftly electing Revanth Reddy as the CM.

While Revanth Reddy himself declared his intention to assume the CM role in the event of Congress winning Telangana, he acknowledged the presence of more than eight contenders for the coveted position. Initial reports suggested Revanth's election as the CLP leader, but subsequent clarifications from Congress leaders urged caution against believing in these rumors.

Seniors within the party, such as Uttam Kumar Reddy and Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, have emerged as keen aspirants for the CM post. The Congress party, in an effort to reconcile conflicting ambitions, is open to accommodating Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka as the Deputy CM. Uttam Kumar Reddy is also expressing a strong desire to assume the role of Chief Minister.

Amidst a myriad of contenders, some are advocating for a Chief Minister from the Backward Classes (BC). Recent reports suggest a delay in Revanth Reddy's swearing-in, indicating that the Congress High Command, led by Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, intends to personally decide his cabinet and portfolios, sidelining Revanth's influence.

Further reports suggest the possibility of adopting a Karnataka model, wherein the Chief Ministerial term is split. In this scenario, Revanth Reddy may govern for two and a half years, followed by a rotation of leadership with other prominent leaders, akin to the arrangement in Karnataka with Siddaramaiah and DK Shiva Kumar. The intricate dynamics within the Congress party unfold as decisions on leadership, cabinet composition, and governance models await the personal intervention of the party's high command.
