Rahman promises surprise gift to fan

Rahman promises surprise gift to young fan.The maestro of music, AR Rahman, a distinguished Oscar-winning composer known as the Mozart of Madras, recently graced the Kathakar Festival in New Delhi. The event took an endearing turn when the audience requested him to hum a few lines of his iconic songs. However, what ensued was a heartwarming interaction between the celebrated music director and a young fan.

While participating in a panel discussion alongside singer Mohit Chauhan, Rahman was urged to sing 'Hamma Hamma.' Responding to the request, he graciously performed the song at the behest of an eager fan. Yet, when Rahman handed the microphone to a young girl, she hesitated, feeling her voice couldn't match his melodious tones.

This led to a delightful conversation between the two about music. Rahman, in a generous gesture, promised to gift the young fan a keyboard to nurture her creative and musical abilities. The heartening exchange, captured on video, has since become widely shared on the internet.

During their conversation, the girl candidly expressed, "When you sang, the music came, but when I sang, it didn't." Rahman, ever humble, tried to console her by stating, "No, no, see. I'm 56 years old, right? You can sing better than me. I wasted a lot of my time." The girl responded promptly, "It is not about age," to which Rahman agreed and emphasized the importance of consistency and practice. He concluded by promising her a keyboard, encouraging her to sing at the same event the following year.

Fans couldn't help but praise Rahman's humility and generosity, with comments like "How humble AR Rahman Sir is," and "Man of Simplicity ARR." It's worth noting that AR Rahman's most recent musical endeavor was composing for the Hindi film "Pippa," starring Ishaan Khatter.
