Shalini Pandey on facing Arjun Reddy backlash. The recently released trailer of the film "Animal" has garnered attention, particularly for the dynamics between Ranbir Kapoor's and Rashmika Mandanna's characters. As anticipation builds for the film's release, Shalini Pandey, known for her role in "Arjun Reddy," reflected on the criticism her movie faced for perceived misogyny.
Recalling her experience, Shalini shared, "I was 21 when I signed the film. For me, it was bigger than anything else. I was acting in a film, being paid for it, and it was my first step towards becoming an actor. It was like a dream. Nothing else mattered to me at that point." She fondly remembered the enjoyable moments on set with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Vijay Deverakonda, emphasizing the significance of the film in her journey.
Acknowledging the controversies surrounding "Arjun Reddy," Shalini clarified, "I’m not trying to defend the film here. In fact, I don’t think I would want to put any opinion out there because it doesn’t matter in any way." Expressing her attachment to the film, she referred to it as her 'baby,' emphasizing the personal value it holds for her.
Shalini went on to say, "It gave me so much, and I couldn’t have imagined that. It’s my baby. But I’ve no opinions on how people took it. We’re all evolving. Everybody has their own opinion and has the right to speak about a film in the way they want to.”
In the midst of discussions about films that stir controversy, it's worth noting that "Animal," featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, is slated for release in cinemas on December 1, alongside Vicky Kaushal's "Sam Bahadur."
