Varun Tej bracing for Matka. Mega Prince Varun Tej, who recently tied the knot with Lavanya Tripathi, is gearing up to focus on his professional commitments. According to sources, he will now concentrate on his upcoming film "Matka," directed by Karuna Kumar of "Palasa 1978" fame, with Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead.
For "Matka," Varun Tej has been working out for the past six months to achieve a lean and mean look. The film is set to feature nine action episodes, the highest for a Varun Tej-starrer, and these sequences will be supervised by four stunt choreographers. The story is set in the Vizag backdrop between the years 1958-1985.
The filmmakers are currently constructing a massive set replicating Vizag’s Old City (One Town area) on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Plans are on to start the next schedule in December. Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) and Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala are producing "Matka" under the banner of Vyra Entertainments.
Adding to the star power, Nora Fatehi is set to play a significant role in the film, and GV Prakash Kumar is onboard as the music director. Varun Tej is aiming to make a strong comeback at the box office with this project.
