But, his major breakthrough came with his second film, 'Ye Maya Chesave' costarring Samantha directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film became a cult hit among love stories and Naga Chaitanya proved his legacy as his family is known for delivering iconic love stories right from his grandfather ANR to his father Nagarjuna.
Naga Chaitanya's successful stint continued with 100% Love, and Tadakha. He has scored hits with mostly love stories rather than action oriented films. He acted in remarkable film 'Manam' which has three generations of Akkineni family and also.marks the last film of Akkineni Nageswara Rao. His success with love stories continued with 'Oka Laila Kosam', 'Premam', and 'Ra Randoi Veduka Chuddam'. After a brief setback he scored superhit with 'Majili' another love story which also costarred his former wife Samantha.
Naga Chaitanya then scored hat-trick with 'Venky Mama', 'Lovestory', and 'Bangarraju'. Then after facing a couple of failures with 'Thank You' and 'Custody', he is back to score a success with intense love story 'Thandel' which also features talented Sai Pallavi. The film is being made as a pan India affair in Chandoo Mondeti's direction. Naga Chaitanya also forayed into OTT space with web series 'Dootha' directed by Vikram K Kumar. It will stream on Amazon Prime Video from December 1.
