The trend of re-releasing yesteryear blockbusters in Tollywood is catching up in Kollywood. Superstar Rajinikanth's Baba was released last year for his birthday. Now, they are getting ready to release his fan favourite Muthu. The film played a crucial role in expanding Rajinikanth's market to other languages especially in Telugu after blockbuster Baasha.
The superhit 1995 movie ‘Muthu’, starring Rajinikanth, Meena, Sarathbabu and others, is all set to hit the screens again after 28 years. The film, directed by K.S. Ravikumar and produced by Kavitalaya Productions, features the music of the maestro A.R. Rahman. The film was a blockbuster at the box office and was also dubbed in Japanese, where it became a cult classic.
The production company of the film has revealed that the film will be re-released in November. The production home wrote, "Vandhutenu sollu. Na thirumbi vandhutenu sollu Fan-fav Muthu is coming back this November. Stay tuned for updates on the re-release!".
It is noteworthy that December 12 is Rajini’s birthday, and this re-release could be a perfect gift for the fans. The film is expected to create a huge buzz among the audience, who are eager to watch Rajini’s charismatic performance and iconic dialogues on the big screen again.
