Srikanth Addala who has made a name for himself with lighter vein and feel good family dramas has made an uturn and directed high voltage raw film like Narappa. He earned brownie points in handling caste discrimination based plot which is a remake of Tamil film Asuran. Srikanth Addala treading his new path made another film based on caste politics written by him titled Peddha Kapu 1.
He introduced Virat Karrna and Pragathi Srivatsava as lead pair. The film also boasts ensemble cast including Rao Ramesh, Naren, Thanikella Bharani, Naga Babu and Anasuya Bharadwaj in key roles. With posters, teaser and trailer the film created buzz among the audience and raised expectations.
Peddha Kapu 1 which is supposed to be made in two parts, was released on September 29 and fetched disaster talk. The film became biggest failure in Srikanth Addala's career. He also featured as a villain in the film. Though his ideas and conviction to make a serious rural political film were lauded, the messy screenplay and lack of clarity in happenings made the film a dud.
Now all of a sudden, Peddha Kapu 1 has made its debut on OTT without any prior announcement. The movie is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video in Telugu from October 27. Produced by Miryala Ravinder Reddy of Dwaraka Creations, Mickey J Meyer has composed the music.
