In the photo, Rajinikanth, dressed in a white shirt and sporting a wig, is seen beaming alongside Amitabh Bachchan, who dons a stylish pink and blue jacket along with oversized glasses.
Rajinikanth's tweet read, "After 33 years, I am working again with my mentor, the phenomenon, Shri Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming Lyca’s 'Thalaivar 170,' directed by T.J Gnanavel. My heart is thumping with joy!"
The announcement of Amitabh Bachchan joining the cast of Thalaivar 170 was initially made by Lyca Productions in October. They welcomed the legendary actor by saying, "Welcoming the Shahenshah of Indian cinema Mr. Amitabh Bachchan on board for #Thalaivar170. #Thalaivar170Team reaches new heights with the towering talent of the one & only @SrBachchan."
Rajinikanth and Bachchan previously shared the screen in the 1991 film "Hum," directed by Mukul Anand. This currently untitled project, unveiled in March, will be directed by TJ Gnanavel, known for his work in "Jai Bhim." The film also features renowned actors Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati.
Rajinikanth has revealed that the shooting for this film, which promises to be an entertaining yet socially impactful venture, will commence shortly. He expressed, "I'm doing my 170th film with director Gnanavel and Lyca, which will be a huge entertainer at the same time with a social message." The music for the Tamil film will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with Subaskaran serving as the producer. The ensemble cast also includes Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, and Dushara Vijayan.
