Despite earlier speculations that the wedding might occur by the end of the year, Aamir has now confirmed that they will be commencing the new year, 2024, with his daughter's wedding.
Aamir expressed his emotions regarding Ira's impending nuptials, stating that it is going to be a deeply moving experience for him and the family is mentally preparing for this significant milestone.
Aamir Khan also took the opportunity to praise his soon-to-be son-in-law, Nupur Shikare. He shared, "Ira is getting married on January 3. The boy she has chosen is — his nickname is Popoye — he's a trainer, and he has arms like Popoye, but his name is Nupur. He is a wonderful young man. When Ira was battling depression, he was there for her, providing unwavering emotional support. I am thrilled that she has chosen someone who... they are incredibly happy together. They have a strong connection, take care of each other, and deeply care for one another."
Aamir continued, "In a cinematic sense, Nupur is like a son to me. He is a fine young man, and we genuinely feel like he is a part of our family. Nupur's mother, Pritam ji, is already a cherished member of our family."
When asked about his own emotions on the wedding day, Aamir admitted, "I am a very emotional person, and it's certain that I will be quite teary-eyed on that day. The family has already started discussions about 'taking care of Aamir that day' because I'm known to be highly emotional. I can't control my smiles or my tears."
Aamir Khan took a break from work to spend quality time with his family, which he described as a transformative experience for him. He explained that this break has allowed him to strengthen his relationships with his loved ones and he is savoring his time with his children.
Reflecting on this phase, he shared, "My relationship with my family is improving every day, and I am relishing that. I am enjoying my time with my children. This is a good phase for me because I can now see people in my personal space more clearly. When I was immersed in the creative world, the people around you tend to become somewhat blurry. It's not that they aren't there or that I don't love them, but in the smallest inconvenience, I would drop everything to be by their side. However, that was during emergency situations. It shouldn't be that way. These are the lessons I've learned in the past two and a half years, and they have made me much calmer."
