Indian, an iconic film with a social message in the combination of Kamal Haasan and director Shankar was released in 1996 and emerged as a huge blockbuster back then. Infact, it was considered as the first pan India blockbuster, which also had a great run in Bollywood too. After 13 years, the legendary combo joined hands for its sequel, Indian 2. Initially the project was announced by Producer Dil Raju but later backed on and Lyca Productions came onboard.
But, the project faced many hurdles and got delayed for years. Finally Udhayanidhi Stalin got onboard as co-producer and ever since it's shoot is going on smoothly. When everything was done and the film is heading towards its completion, Shankar find that there is scope to add more sequences and thus it can lead to its third part, Indian 3.
For this, he decided to shoot for another 30 days and make it ready for Indian 3. Already makers have their green signal for part 3. Kamal Haasan has already completed shooting his part for Indian 2. Now, for Indian 3 as per reports he is being paid a whopping Rs 120 Crores more. Kamal Haasan also gave his body to become a part of Indian 3.
Now, with Kamal Haasan okayed Indian 3, his other projects, #KH233 in H Vinoth's direction, and #KH234 in Maniratnam's direction are said to be delayed further. Anirudh is composing the music for Indian 2 while Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet and Priya Bhavani Shankar are playing as female leads.
