The audience's expectations from biopics are always high, especially if it is a pan-India movie we are talking about. '800' is not just a pan-India movie but is an international release with Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Sinhalese and English release this October 6.
Madhur Mittal of 'Slumdog Millionaire' fame is playing Muthiah Muralidaran in this MS Sripathy directorial. Speaking about getting into the skin of the real-life character, Mittal says that it involved dedication and hours of back-breaking work (both on the cricket field to practice bowling and in the make-up room, receiving make-up from artists).
"From hairstyle to skin tone, director MS Sripathy sir took great care in all aspects. They did make-up for two to three hours in a diligent manner on a daily basis," Mittal reveals.
The posters and the film's trailer suggest that all the hard work, physical transformation and mental frame are going to be convincing. Looks like Mittal, his director, and the team are in for critical acclaim.
The film's all-India theatrical rights are with Sivalenka Krishna Prasad of Sridevi Movies. In the Telugu States, stalwarts such as Dil Raju, Suniel Narang and Annapurna Studios are releasing the movie in different territories.
