AR Rahman Defamation Case On Surgeons Association

Rahman on Surgeons Association

Rahman defamation case on Surgeons Association. AR Rahman, a renowned musician, made headlines in September following a controversial incident at his Chennai concert, which was criticized for poor management. In the aftermath of this mishap, Rahman now finds himself embroiled in yet another controversy. The Association of Surgeons in India (ASICON) filed a complaint against him, alleging that he had accepted a sum of Rs 29 lakh for a concert that he never conducted. Rahman's legal team has promptly responded, refuting all of these allegations.

Rahman's concert, 'Marakkuma Nenjam,' had seen numerous complaints, including reports of molestation, stampede-like situations, and the distribution of fake tickets. Many ticket-holding attendees were denied entry due to overcrowding issues.

The recent controversy stems from ASICON's complaint against Rahman. In response, Rahman's representatives demanded a substantial sum of Rs 10 crore as compensation for what they perceived as an attempt to tarnish his reputation.

A legal notice was dispatched to the Association of Surgeons of India, instructing them to withdraw their complaint against Rahman within three days. Rahman categorically denied all the allegations and asserted that there were third parties involved in the matter of which he was unaware.

The legal notice further required the association to issue an unconditional apology for the damage done to AR Rahman's reputation. Additionally, Rahman's counsel insisted that the association pay Rs 10 crore as compensation for the alleged defamation. Rahman's legal team indicated their intent to pursue legal and criminal action should the association fail to comply with these demands.

The association's complaint against Rahman pertains to an amount of Rs 29 lakh allegedly received by the musician in 2018.
