Sreenu Vaitla has an interesting career as a filmmaker. He made his debut with a Nandi Award winning lovestory but during his course he changed the format of commercial cinema with comedy as it's main ingredient. Though his formula is short-lived, he has revived the entertainment genre even in star heroes films.
Sreenu Vaitla made his debut as a director with Nee Kosam which also marks Ravi Teja's debut as a solo hero. The film became successful and Sreenu Vaitla won Nandi Award for best debut director. Then he made Anandam with new comers under Ramoji Rao's Ushakiron Movies banner and scored huge blockbuster. Anandam is a musical lovestory which introduced Sreenu Vaitla's tinge in comedy.
Then he directed Sontham and Anandamanandamaye which resulted in box office failures but were lauded for comedy in those films. This is when Sreenu Vaitla has found his strength and came up with a full-on entertainer, Venky starring Ravi Teja. The film became a superhit and earned cult status among modern comedy films. After a setback with Andarivaadu, Vaitla back to his mojo and delivered consecutive successes, Dhee, Dubai Seenu, Ready, King and Namo Venkatesa.
Sreenu Vaitla collaborated with Mahesh Babu for Dookudu. The film became a huge blockbuster for its comedy blended with heroism in a commercial format. Dookudu made comedy as main element in any star hero's commercial films. He continued his success with Baadshah starring NTR. Since then, Sreenu Vaitla is facing failures and is trying a solid comeback with #Gopichand32.
