Why did cops wake up now over Baby. It's been nearly 10 weeks since the release of the blockbuster movie "Baby," starring Anand Deverakonda, Vaishnavi Chaitanya, and Viraj Ashwin in Tollywood. The film is available for streaming on the Aha OTT platform and is scheduled for its world television premiere on ETV channel on the 24th of this month.
However, there seems to be a recent awakening within the Telangana police.Hyderabad CP CV Anand has stirred controversy with his statement that certain drug-related scenes in the movie are objectionable. Netizens are now questioning why it took the police six months to address this issue, likening it to "barking after the robbers have left." The Censor Board recommended displaying a warning for drug scenes, but a controversy has erupted on YouTube over the absence of such warnings in those scenes.CP CV Anand has alleged that there's little distinction between the movie's scenes and those mentioned in the Madapur drug case involving a fresh living apartment. Notices have been sent to the makers of "Baby" regarding this matter.
However, given the considerable time that has passed since the film's release, many netizens wonder why the police are making accusations against the film now. Questions are also raised about the Censor Board's lack of action on the drug scenes. The director of "Baby," Sairajesh, clarified that the police issued advisory notices to them. He mentioned receiving a call from the Hyderabad Police Commissioner inquiring about a specific scene in the movie.
Sairajesh explained that they believed the scene was necessary based on the context and questioned why there was no warning on YouTube for such scenes, noting that YouTube doesn't have censorship rules. Nevertheless, Sairajesh stated that a warning message was indeed displayed in the movie and on the OTT platform.
