Gauthami and her daughter get death threats

Death threats to Gauthami

Gauthami and her daughter get death threats. Gauthami, a well-known figure in the entertainment industry, has recently lodged a formal complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner, alleging a staggering financial fraud amounting to Rs 25 crores. In her grievance, she revealed that her substantial assets, including properties in various parts of Tamil Nadu, particularly in Sriperumbudur, have fallen victim to fraudulent activities. This unfortunate turn of events has compelled her to take action, given her ongoing health issues and the financial demands associated with raising her daughter.

Gauthami's predicament began when she sought to sell a 46-acre property, owing to her health concerns and the expenses associated with her daughter's upbringing. She entrusted this endeavor to one Alagappan, a builder, and his spouse, granting them power of attorney in the process.

However, Gauthami now alleges that Alagappan and his family engaged in deceptive practices, including the fabrication of documents bearing her forged signatures, ultimately resulting in the misappropriation of assets amounting to a staggering Rs 25 crores. This grievous misconduct has unveiled four distinct instances of fraud, all discernible through a thorough examination of bank transactions.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, the 54-year-old cancer survivor disclosed that both she and her daughter Subbu Lakshmi have received menacing death threats from individuals with political affiliations who are believed to be assisting Alagappan. These threats have not only placed their lives in peril but have also disrupted her daughter Subbulakshmi's education.

In light of these distressing circumstances, Gauthami has earnestly implored the authorities to launch a comprehensive investigation into the matter, facilitating the recovery of her assets, and taking necessary punitive action against those responsible. The Chennai Central Crime Branch police have taken up the case and are in the process of issuing a notice to Alagappan and his family for further inquiry.
