It is known that netizens blasted Saif Ali Khan and Kareena for naming their son after Taimur, who invaded India and plundered its wealth and murdered many people. She expressed her ongoing confusion about why they faced criticism because their intention was never to offend anyone. She emphasized their strong belief in freedom of speech and the right to make personal choices.

The actress shared the origin of her son's name, Taimur, revealing that it was inspired by Saif's childhood friend who shared the same name. She explained, "When we chose the name, Saif mentioned that it was the name of his childhood friend who he cherished. He said, 'If I have a son, I'd like to name him Taimur,' because Taimur was his first friend when he lived in this town."
