It is quite common in the film industry that some films get turned down by star heroes and then when they made with other relatively small heroes turned out to become blockbusters earning them stardom. There were many instances like this in the past and present too. One such interesting thing happened with Megastar Chiranjeevi too in recent times.
Senior producer Aswini Dutt who made several iconic films with Chiranjeevi speaking in a recent interview revealed how he missed doing a cult film with Chiru. He said that he wanted to collaborate with Chiranjeevi for a film after his re-entry into movies. He even chose The Family Man script written by Raj & DK to make it with Chiranjeevi.
But, after the success of Khaidi No 150, Chiranjeevi felt it wouldn't suit him as the subject has kids and family drama. Aswini Dutt revealed that even Director duo Raj & DK are said to fine-tune the script removing kids characters but Chiru was not interested at that time. Dutt said it would have been great if it was made into a film with Chiranjeevi.
The Family Man was later made into a series starring Manoj Bajpai, Priyamani for Amazon Prime. It became a smash hit globally giving a big boost to TV Series boom in India. The second season of The Family Man featured Samantha and earned her nationwide recognition. If Chiranjeevi had done it then it would have been definitely a game changer.
