In the midst of all this, Karan Johar surprised all saying he is interested to watch Kangana Ranaut's Emergency. Speaking to scribes, he said, “The emergency is being made and I am excited to watch it.”
Kangana Ranaut's Emergency is all about the dark phase in Indian democracy when the then PM Indira Gandhi imposed an emergency. Kangana is playing the lead role of PM Indira Gandhi and her first look and glimpse created a sensation. Kangana herself is directing the film and it stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Satish Kaushik, Mahima Chaudhry, and Milind Soman, in important roles.
The film is slated for a grand release on 24 November 2023. Kangna Ranaut herself penned the story for the film which is bankrolled on the Manikarnika Films banner. Ritesh Shah provided the screenplay and dialogues for the film.
