UAE censor board clears OMG 2 with fewer cuts. People are under the impression that Middle East countries have tougher rules and are strict in implementing them and will not tolerate any obscenity and criticism or hurting of religious sentiments. But it is coming out that UAE is more liberal than India.
All eyes are on Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 which is releasing on 11 August 2023. The film is directed by Amit Tiwari and expectations are high as it is the sequel to the hit film OMG. But the members of the Indian censor board shocked by sending the film to the revising committee and then suggesting more than 23 cuts and even then awarding an A certificate.
Many expected the UAE censor board will follow the same pattern. However, the UAE censor board gave a 12A certificate for the film. This means in UAE children above 12 years can watch the film whereas in India only adults of 18 years can watch the film.
It is coming out that the UAE censor board suggested only one cut for the frontal nudity and that passed the film for viewing. This is now becoming the central point for discussion.
