Fahadh Faasil comes from a film background. His father is a popular Malayalam Filmmaker, Fazil who also directed a Telugu film Killer with Nagarjuna. He made a debut as the lead in a Malayalam film, Kaiyethum Doorath directed by his father. After its failure, he was away for seven years. Then he made his comeback with an anthology film Kerala Cafe in 2009.
He earned recognition for his performances in films like Chaappa Kurishu, 22 Female Kottayam, and Diamond Necklace. Then his intense love story, Annayum Rasoolum costarring Andrea Jeremiah brought him fame. His later films continue to build his image and he too becomes mature as an actor with every film.
His brief yet impactful role in Bangalore Days gave him a big break. It was highest grossing Mollywood film and he got recognition in other south states too with that film. With National Award Winning films, Maheshinte Prathikaaram (Umamaheswara Ugra Roopasya in Telugu), and Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum he earned stardom. His work has been praised by other language audiences too. Njan Prakashan, Varathan, Kumbalangi Nights, Malik, Trance, and Joji made him one of the popular stars in Malayam.
He made his debut in Tamil with Velaikkaaran starting with Sivakarthikeyan as the antagonist. Then he starred in Super Deluxe along with Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha. He made his Telugu debut with Pushpa The Rule with Allu Arjun and impressed everyone in the cop role. His roles in Kamal Haasan's Vikram and recently in Maamannan were praised for his impressive performance.
