President Pratibha Patll will arrive in Hyderabad on August 18 to inaugurate the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) on August 19.
The President is expected to reach Hyderabad late in the night of August 18 and proceed to Raj Bhavan. She is scheduled to inaugurate the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) 2010 the following day at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), a state of the art facility for holding large meetings.
The ICM is held once in every four years under the auspices of the International Mathematical Union (IMU). The Fields Medals, the Nevanlinna Prize and the Gauss Prize are awarded during the Congress’ opening ceremony.
A new prize, Chem Medal will also be added to this year's ICM-2010 festival.
