About 1100 posts which are lying vacant in the Andhra Pradesh forest ministry will be filled up soon, said Minister for Forests Ramachandra Reddy here on Saturday. Interacting with the media he said ``In the state about 6,000 `save our forest committees’ will be set up soon. ‘’
He further added that the Government is intending to spend Rs 500 crores on National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme this year. Soon a mono rail will be introduced in Tirupati zoo. The Govt is seeking Centers’ help in promulgating a stricter laws to counter the theft of the forest property and in the protection of environment, the Minister averred. He further added the state is seeking permission from the Centrer to auction the 5,000 tons of seized red sandlewood.
