The number of covid-19 cases continues to rise in Andhra Pradesh, with 26 more people testing positive from Kurnool district alone, according to a media bulletin from the state government. The total number of cases in the state now stands at 252.
Most of the cases detected in the last week or so have been linked to persons who attended the religious congregation held at Delhi's Markaz Nizamuddin in March organised by Tablighi Jamaat.
Kurnool district records highest number of Coronavirus cases with a total of 53 positive cases in the district. Nellore stands second place with 34 cases, while Guntur recorded 30 cases. As of now, five patients tested negative and were discharged.
