Sedatives in cool drink to trap four girls

Four tribal students of Boddaputtu tribal welfare girls hostel near Vizag were allegedly gangraped by five youths in Vizag agency. The incident came to light on Wednesday night.  It is learnt that the accused mixed sedatives in a cold drink, made the girls consume it and later committed the crime. Two of the accused have been identified as Chiranjeevi and Bhairavamurthy.

Five girls, studying in ninth and 10th standards, had gone to a weekly fare on March 17. Three of them went to a tailors shop at the fare, while two others were returning. Two auto drivers came to the tailors shop and offered a ride to the three girls, who knew them. The drivers also picked up the other two girls and offered to drop them at the hostel.

However, the drivers took the girls to a friends home and offered them the cold drink. While one girl refused the drink and went out, the other four girls complained of giddiness immediately after consuming the beverage. They regained their senses only the next morning. Though they brought the matter to the hostel authorities, nobody took it seriously. Police acted only after one of the victims filed a complaint.
