Hyderabad, Aug 13 :

Experts from Egypt will soon be visiting Hyderabad to take necessary measures to protect the 4500-year-old Egyptian mummy from getting damaged.
An expert from Egypt, Mr Tariq Al Abedi, on Thursday visited the mummy kept in the State Museum in Hyderabad and found that the lower portion of the mummy is slowly getting damaged due to some humidity at the ground level. “But there is no worry. We have the infrastructure to keep it in good shape. Soon experts from Egypt will visit Hyderabad and take necessary measures to bring it back to the original shape,” he told media persons after examining the condition of the mummy.

The Minister for Information and Public Relations and Archives, Ms J Geetha Reddy, accompanied by the officials of the State Museum also visited the mummy along with the Egyptian official on Thursday.

The Nizam Nawab, Mr Osman Ali Khan, had paid 1,000 British Pounds for the 16 to 18 year old aged Egyptian mummy and gifted it to the State Museum. Since then it has been kept at the archives centre.
