Taking exception to the stray dog menace in the King George Hospital at Visakhapatnam, the State Human Rights Commission on Tuesday directed the hospital management to pay Rs one lakh to the Anuradha, the victim in the case.

Directing the Hospital management to take steps for hygienic maintenance, the SHRC Commission Chairman Justice Subhashan Reddy asked the hospital to deploy additional forces to prevent such incidents.

According to sources, Anuradha, a pregnant woman was admitted to KGH with labour pains and delivered a stillborn baby.

As the parents of Anuradha were unable to pay bribes to the nurses, they left the stillborn baby in a tray, which remained unattended to for some time.

Meanwhile, a stray dog picked the flesh and fled. The incident highlighted the rampant stray dog menace on the hospital premises.

Anuradha appealed to SHRC seeking action against KG Hospital management.
