Hyderabad, Aug 11 :-
Amid mounting criticism from the Opposition over its lackadaisical approach in tackling drought in the House, all the 22 districts of the state have been receiving heavy rain since Monday with low-lying areas and roads being inundated.
Traffic was blocked on the main highways and thousands of people of low-lying areas were hit as heavy Rains continued to lash the Coastal Andhra.
Against the normal figure of 322.20 mm, the State received only 153.80 mm so far, according to the meteorological department sources.
With the South-West monsoon playing truant, vast stretches are yet to see sowings, crops on lakhs of acres face the threat of withering or wilting due to severe deficits in rainfall.
The situation is likely to improve with the meteorological department predicting more Rains across Telangana and Rayalaseema regions.
