Rains in Hyderabad on Sunday, Monday night and on Tuesday morning brought down the tempeatures in the city. Though unseasonal, it brought cheer to the people and provided the much-needed relief to the residents who experienced sultry weather conditions since Friday afternoon. The day temperatures in the city has been increasing for the past couple of days with mercury touching 36 degrees Celsius.
The squally winds on Monday evening disrupted the power in a few pockets of the city.
Unseasonal rains in some parts of the state are a matter of concern for the farmers.
Mango farmers need not worry much because the current weather conditions are unlikely to continue after 48 hours. Experts believe that these rains may not harm the Rabi crop, but the cloudy weather is certainly a cause for worry as it creates a conducive atmosphere for worms and insects to breed, which in turn, may hamper the crops.
Met department sources said a trough forming across Vidarbha and parts of Telangana is causing the rains.
