Khammam, Feb 6: Information and Public Relations Minister Geeta Reddy will confer awards to winners of the Nandi Nataka Awards Competition being staged at Bhaktha Ramadasu Kalakshethram in Khammam at the conclusion ceremony to be held on Sunday.The awards, a Gold, Silver and for the first time a Copper Nandi, would be given to the top three performers at the festival.Minister Ramreddy Venkat Reddy, Information and Public Relationship Commissioner Parthasarathi and district Collector Usha Rani will also participate in the function.
This is the first time that the Copper Nandi will be presented, as on earlier occasions, only the top two winners would get the prizes.Performances by 49 teams have been staged so far in the festival after about 250 teams had applied for staging their acts in the festival.Out of these 250 teams, 44 teams have been selected by the government while the remaining five teams have gained entry through recommendations by various panels.Ten Sanghika Natakalu and 10 Padhya, 12 Balala and 12 Sanghika Dramas have been staged in the competition so far with tremendous response from the general public.
