Park hospital seized; toll three

Hyderabad, Feb 4: Respa, one of the three nurses of Park Healthcare Hospital, who was admitted to Yashoda Hospital, died here on Thursday.With Respa's death, the toll in Tuesday's fire at Park Hospital, which was seized by the Government on Thursday, rose to three.Respa, who hailed from Kerala, was admitted to Yashoda hospital following a fire at Park Hospital on Tuesday.Doctors said Respa died due to smoke she inhaled in the fire. “Respa was unconscious when she was brought to the hospital. Since then she had been kept on the ventilator,” the doctors said.

Earlier, Rani, a nurse from Nalgonda died in the mishap. The condition of the third nurse, Sandra, is said to be stable though she has been kept in the ICU for observation.Meanwhile, the state government on Thursday issued orders to seize the hospital for failure of the management to conform to safety norms.The Fire Department officials, who are conducting the probe, opined that technical negligence might be the cause of the mishap. However, police said they were still investigating the source of fire.
