Kuchipudi dance fest begins tomorrow

Vijayawada, Feb 1: The Krishna District Administration is making all the necessary arrangements to conduct the most important event of the district, the two-day Kuchipudi dance festival, beginning on Wednesday.The Krishna District Collector, Mr Piyush Kumar, said here on Monday that all the arrangements are underway to conduct `Sata Mayuri' Kuchipudi dance festival to be held at Siddhendrayogi Kalapeetham at Kuchipudi village from February 3 for two days. He said that the Governor, Mr E S L Narasimhan, will be the chief guest for the valedictory function to be held on February 4.

The festival is to be conducted in association with the Krishna District Cultural Council, Krishna Zilla Parishad, Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams and Potti Sriramulu Telugu University. A ballet `Sata Mayuri' to be performed by 111 dancers would be the highlight of the two-day festival, the Collector said in a release here.The District Incharge Minister, Mr P Ramachadra Reddy, would inaugurate the festival while the Minister for Information and Public Relations, Dr J Geetha Reddy, and the Comissioner of the Information and Public Relations, Mr C Parthasarathi, would be present.
