Hyderabad, Dec 30: In view of the bandh call given by the Joint Action Committee on Wednesday, the South Central Railway cancelled 165 train services and regulated several others.The cancelled services include 76 passenger trains, 42 suburban trains, 32 MMTS (local trains) and 11 express trains.The express trains that run in the day to Coastal towns like the Inter City, Sathavahana, Palnadu Express, and Krishna Express were cancelled.
Janmabhoomi Express between Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad was terminated at Tenali. The long-distance trains like the AP Express, Howrah Express and Patna Express reached Secunderabad behind schedule causing inconvenience to the passengers.According to SCR officials, the decision to cancel the services was taken as the Railways had suffered heavy losses due to damage to tracks, signalling equipment and other installations during the previous bandhs called by political parties in less than a month.
