HC clears teachers' transfers

Hyderabad, August 4 :-

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday gave its green signal for teachers’ transfer.

The High Court has directed the Directorate of Education Department to give transfer orders to teachers based their entitlement points. Earlier, the Andhra Pradesh Tribunal had imposed stay on the teachers’ transfer process.

With the High court giving green signal, the government can give transfers and promotion orders to teachers. The High Court also suspended the orders of AP Tribunal. The teachers unions have hailed the High Court judgment on counselling process for inter-district transfer of teachers in the state.

The Union members wanted the department to consider longstanding school service as the criterion.
