The police department received his body from Gwalior in the early hours of Tuesday. The re-postmortem for the body would be conducted at Osmani General Hospital.

Muralinath (40), a resident of Lingojiguda in Saroornagar, was sent to New Delhi on July 20 to work as car driver with the family of OCTOPUS (Anti-terrorist force), Additional Director-General Vivek Dube.

But, on Sunday, the constable’s family members received the shocking news about his death. What angered them even more was the news that Muralinath’s last rites were also performed without the body being handed over to them.

However, the family sources said that so far they have not received any information regarding the bringing of his body to the city. They demanded the government to order a CBI probe into the incident.

The Chief Minister, Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, appointed a committee consisting of Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary and DGP to look into the incident.

Meanwhile, the State Human Rights Commission asked the Chief Secretary P Ramakanth Reddy to submit a comprehensive report on circumstances that led to death of a constable by August 5.
