The United Telugu State Andhra Pradesh might have been divided into two with formation of Telangana but the warm and friendly relations between people in two States are always healthy. It has become a ritual for Khairatabad Ganesh in Hyderabad to have the Laddu from Andhra Pradesh. This year, the Ganesh Utsav Committee has finalized the Laddu weight as 5,600 Kgs to be made in Tapeswaram of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh.
As per the information from committee, the Mega Laddu was 3.5 tons in 2012, 4.2 tons in 2013 and 5.2 tons in 2014. This year of 2015 will have 400 Kgs increase to make 5.6 tons with seven feet height. It will take two days for cooking the Laddu and shaping it by Polisetty Malli Babu of Suruchi Foods. Actually, they will start the Laddu preparation on September 9 and complete it by September 16 for transporting the same to Hyderabad by September 17.
On Sep 17, Governor Narasimhan will hand-over the Laddu to organizers. The process of making Khairatabad Ganesh Laddu was released through a documentary ‘Maha Ganapathiki Maha Naivedyam.’ Good thing about this Tapeswaram Laddu is no preservatives will be added and Laddu can remain fresh for six months.
