Hyderabad,Dec 16: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday directed the State Government to reopen immediately all the educational institutions in the Telangana region that are closed in the aftermath of the separate statehood agitation.Taking strong exception for remaining the educational institutions closed even after the frayed tempers cooled down, the High Court is also understood to have asked the State Government to make a statement on the matter (reopening of the institutions) immediately and give due publicity that the academic activity in the region is being resumed.
Only on Tuesday the Rosaiah administration reviewed the prevailing situation in Telangana and has taken a decision to reopen all the schools and colleges from December 19 and the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU),to which majority of the engineering colleges are affiliated, has informed this to all the colleges. The JNTU registrar, Mr Saibaba Reddy, also said on Tuesday that all the engineering, pharmacy, MBA, MCA and other post-graduate colleges will be reopened on December 19. However, the High Court wants the educational institutions be reopened with immediate effect. The educational institutions were closed in Telangana region after the agitation for separate Telangana state spilled over to the campuses.
